Otto G Schlight

Having emigrated to the USA from Germany in 1880 Otto Georgi played, taught and imported concertinas from Fredrich Lange  in Chemnitz, Germany and in 1902 partnered with Louis Vitak to sell them through their music shop in Chicago.

With the onset of the 1st Word War importing was not an option so they hired Otto Schlight to make their instruments for them.

Schlight was an accomplished musical instrument maker when he arrived in the USA and while there is little record of his other instruments it appears he was also making banjos.
